Condiment packaging such as soy sauce, vinegar, sauces, and hot pot bases easily comes into contact with grease, sauces, and moisture during production and use. Coding marks need to have good oil resistance and chemical resistance. TTO thermal transfer overprinting with dedicated ribbons can achieve durable marking on condiment flexible packaging.


Condiment packaging mostly uses PE/PA/EVOH composite films, and some products also require high-temperature retort resistance (such as bagged sauces requiring 121°C sterilization). Ordinary wax-based ribbons easily peel off in this environment, so high-temperature retort-resistant resin-based TTO ribbons must be selected.


In actual production, TTO printers are installed on sauce packaging machines to complete printing before filling and sealing. Printed content includes production date, shelf life, batch number, execution standard number, production license number, etc. For products with high oil content such as hot pot bases, the ribbon needs to pass oil resistance testing to ensure that oil stains do not penetrate and cause character blurring.


Enhanced resin-based TTO ribbons are recommended, as they can withstand temperatures above 121°C, are resistant to grease and sauce corrosion, and characters remain clear after retorting. At the same time, QR codes printed with resin-based ribbons have high grades, meeting the traceability system construction needs of the condiment industry.
